San Antonio Free Market Medical Association

Founding the San Antonio chapter of the Free Market Medical Association was an essential milestone in creating a network of free market collaborators such as Dr. Mark Haverkorn of River City OMS and Dr. Arti Thangudu of Complete Medicine and others who are also committed to bringing healthcare reform to San Antonio.

Direct Med Clinic Provides Services That Other Clinics Do Not

The direct payment method and showing price listings on websites are great strides in lowering healthcare. Direct Med Clinic goes a step further by taking care of the needs of our members in a way that many urgent care and primary care clinics do not.

“Most clinics do not include IV fluids,” Dr. Moczygemba says. “Lacerations aren’t done, or suturing.” He explains that employees who are prone to accidents could also have dehydration. “They will need IV fluids or have a cut, and we provide these things you’d seen in an urgent care clinic.”

Dr. Moczygemba continues to explain that physicians generally have only 10 to 15 minutes to spend with clients all day. “They won’t want to interrupt their visits for a cold, flu or sprain.” Direct Med Clinic is restoring the doctor-to-patient relationship through lengthening hospital visits but also brings value to the membership by offering services that are not typical for primary care clinics.

Direct Med Clinic’s flexibility and time response are part of the services that make bring Direct Med Clinic’s customer service to another level.

Price Transparency and Healthcare Reform

Here’s what Dr. Roger Moczygemba had to say about price transparency and healthcare reform that makes sense:

In the United States we have some of the most brilliant doctors and most high-tech medical equipment in the world. However, our healthcare delivery system is out of balance. It is out of balance because under a cloak of non-transparency there is an opportunity to abuse the system.

The Surgery Center of Oklahoma Explains Direct Primary Care to Yahoo Finance

Healthcare has become a huge part of our GDP. The price tag we pay in the United States for healthcare outcomes is high compared to the same outcomes in other countries. Why? One reason is because we do not have a free market in healthcare. In America, we pride ourselves in our free-market but when it comes to healthcare in America, it is not a free market.

To the extent that we can make healthcare transparent, we can affect a positive, meaningful, long-lasting and honest healthcare reform. Making healthcare more transparent will expose those who are profiting from the encrypted model at the expense of those who are struggling to pay for their medication or a small employer who is striving to provide benefits for his valued staff.

Promoting transparency should bridge the partisan gap and unite everyone who has the best interest of patients at heart. It should resonate with those who believe in the free market that made the United States such a great country.
